Northport Takes On William Floyd During Homecoming

The Tigers dug their claws in during the second half, but fell to the Colonials, 7-14.

The stands were full at Northport High School Saturday for the 2013 Homecoming game against William Floyd.

William Floyd came out strong in the first half, scoring two touchdowns, ending the half 0-14. Northport came back in the third quarter looking to take back its field. The tigers clawed their way across the home turf. Travis Mauro ran 45 yards for a touchdown. 

"I knew I had to step my team up," Mauro said.

The Tigers were able to keep the Colonials at Bay for the remainder of the game, finishing with a score of 7-14 with the win for William Floyd. 

"I tried my hardest and I left it on the field," Mauro added.
