Carol Rose has been selected to coach at the sixth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic.
The winningest girls lacrosse coach in state history won her 300th game this spring and has the Tigers in the for the 10th straight season. Northport faces defending champ Bay Shore Thursday at 3 p.m. at Dowling’s Shirley campus.
Northport senior Shannon Gilroy, a midfielder who signed with the University of Florida, is among 88 All-Americans named to boys and girls squads.
Rose will coach the North team. The Under Armour games will be played July 2 at Towson University. The girls play at 4 p.m. The boys game will be broadcast on ESPNU at 8 p.m.
Five lacrosse stars also made the cut. Defense Greg Danseglio, who signed with national champion Virginia, headlines the group, joined by midfielder Joe LoCascio (Maryland). The girls team features St. Anthony’s midfielder Kerrin Maurer (Duke), attack Lauren Schwalje (Georgetown) and defense Shanna Brady (Maryland).
