Northport Dominates State Lacrosse Rankings
Tigers boys and girls lacrosse teams in Top 10 of latest NYSSWA rankings.
Chaminade and Garden City sit atop the latest New York State Sportswriters Association boys lacrosse rankings. But Northport boys and girls lacrosse teams each rank in the state's Top 10.
Chaminade (6-0) is the top-ranked Class A team while Garden City is No. 1 among B schools. But 13 of the Top 25 A schools hail from Long Island as well as eight of the Top 20 Bs. That makes quite a case for strong Island.
The top-ranked team in the state girls lacrosse Class A rankings is West Genesee (5-0) while Farmingdale (4-0) and St. Anthony’s (3-1) round out the Top 3. Garden City (6-0) is No. 1 in the B rankings, followed by Manhasset (4-1) and Sayville (6-1).
The NYSSWA also released the latest Long Island boys lacrosse rankings, compiled by Farmingdale Coach Bob Hartranft. Here is the Suffolk County Top 10:
