Glenn's Tom Forsberg Named All-American

Maryland-bound boys lacrosse star leads Glenn to Suffolk Class C semifinal Thursday at Shoreham-Wading River.

Tom Forsberg and the Glenn boys lacrosse team face their biggest challenge yet Thursday when they take on top-seeded Shoreham-Wading River in a Suffolk Class C semifinal.

Shoreham-Wading River (13-3), who will host the 5 p.m. game, and beat No. 4 Glenn during the regular season.

But the Knights (9-7) have something Shoreham doesn't: An All-American.

Under Armour announced its All-American teams last week and Forsberg was selected, one of 10 All-Americans from Long Island. He'll play in the All-American game June 30 at 8 p.m. at Towson.

Also this school year, Forsberg helped the Long Island Class IV titles.

But first Forsberg, a midfield with 43 goals this season, has another game to win.

The needs to do something big to help the Knights knock off Shoreham-Wading River.

No. 2 Bayport-Blue Point host No. 3 Mount Sinai in the other semifinal. The title game is May 30 at 3 p.m. at Stony Brook.
