Northport Student Film to be Featured on TV [Video]

Nick Evangelista's short film "The Road Not Taken" to air on MSG Varsity's "Student Director's Cut" on June 9.

Northport High School student Nick Evangelista's short film "The Road Not Taken" will be aired alongside seven other student films as part of MSG Varsity's "Student Director's Cut" TV show on Saturday at 12 p.m. on Channel 14.

Evangelista's film is a movie trailer featuring someone who has gotten into trouble due to illegal drugs. The protagonist appears in over his head because he owes money to his drug dealer. The trailer ends with a threatening phone call, followed by gun shots and then the boys screams.

The film was shown at the Suffolk County First Exposure Film Festival as well as the Cinema Arts Center in Huntington.

Student Director’s Cut is a collection of original productions from students and schools throughout the tri-state area that also features commentary from the student directors regarding their pieces. Saturday’s episode of Student Director’s Cut will also be available on-demand on Optimum Channel 614 and online at www.msgvarsity.com.
