Haunted Long Island; School Board Meeting

A look at upcoming events and activities this week in Northport.

Good morning, Northport. We're off to another week. Here's what's in store.

The weather is cooling down as we're in the heart of October. Expect sunshine today with a high of 65 degrees. Showers are predicted to roll in Tuesday and Wednesday, with the temperature taking a drop into the low 50s. The sun will peaking out from the clouds again on Friday.

There is a meeting of the Northport-East Northport School District Board of Education Monday at 7 p.m. The meeting is a public work session. Click here to view the meeting agenda.

On Thursday, The Northport Public Library will host the Eco-Photo Explorers as they uncover the spine-tingling stories of Long Island’s resident ghosts, ghouls
and monsters. Learn the real story behind “The Amityville Horror,” and hear
about Oyster Bay’s haunted Raynham Hall. They will explore numerous other
“hauntings” across Long Island and examine the stories behind the
Montauk Monster and the rumors of strange animal experiments at Plum Island. No registration is required.

Did you pick your pumpkin yet for Halloween? Here are 21 farm patches to visit before the season ends.
