Glenn Students Selected for Music Fests

Thirteen student-musicians selected to participate in State, County music festivals.

Elwood-John Glenn High School student-musicians were recently selected to participate in State and COunty music festivals in the coming months.

Ryan Harrigan and Christina Dimitriou will participate in the 77th New York State School Music Association All-State Music Festival at the Eastman Theatre in Rochester from Nov. 29 through Dec. 2. It will feature approximately 900 high school student-musicians from throughout New York State and is reserved for only the finest musicians in the area.

Eleven talented students will participate in the 2012 NYSCAME/SCMEA (New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education/Suffolk County Music Educators Association) Suffolk All-County Music Festival on Nov. 16 at Northport High School. The County Festival is under the direction of some of the most renowned conductors from across the county.

It's really nice to read this; congratulations to the fine student artists (and their supportive parents), as well as their teachers and mentors at Glenn.
