The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum will hold an informational public meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in the Vanderbilt Planetarium, to discuss the construction of a 140-foot monopole cell-phone tower on its property.
The goal of the project is to improve cell-phone reception in the Centerport and Northport Harbor area, and the facility may include public-safety communications. The mission and programs of the museum will benefit from the revenue generated from the licensing agreement.
