Elwood-John Glenn Named a 'Reward School'

Honor based on high student performance on state tests, graduation rates, and overall academics.

was recently named a Reward School by the New York State Education Department. NYSED bestows this designation based on high student performance on state assessments, graduation rates and overall academic progress. The Elwood high school is one of only 67 schools throughout Long Island and 250 schools throughout the state to receive this designation.

As a Reward School, Elwood-John Glenn High School is now invited to compete for up to $150,000 in grants, provided through the federal Race to the Top program.

“It is a fantastic honor to be recognized as one of the best schools in the state,” said Principal Dr. Vincent Mulieri. “This is a testament to the hardworking students and staff at Elwood-John Glenn High School. We strive to always move forward and do our best as we go along, and this recognition is duly deserved.”
