Crime Log: Man Stabbed in Neck

Police were called to a residence on 8th Avenue in East Northport Aug. 15 at 12:50 a.m. after a man was stabbed with a knife, officials said. 

According to police, Derek Loper, 22, took a knife and stabbed another man in the back of the neck, causing significant bleeding and pain. The victim was hospitalized, police said.

Police did not say what led to the violence. Loper was charged with assault in the with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon in the second degree, a felony.
