T-Mobile Seeks Cell Tower at Britannia

An application will be heard Wednesday by the BZA in addition to three others.

The Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled to hear four applications Wednesday, Feb. 24 at its regular meeting at 7 p.m.

One of those is an application by T-Mobile Northeast to construct a cell-phone tower at at 81 Fort Salonga Road. 

According to the meeting agenda, T-Mobile is seeking approval "for a public utility wireless telecommunications facility."

According to the Northport Village Code, Section 309-B(2) "no wireless communicationfacility or any related or accessory structures may be erected without first obtaining a special use permit from the Board of Zoning Appeals."

Other scheduled hearings tomorrow night include an application by Paul Porco for a Yogurt Crazy shop, a retail store featuring self serve frozen yogurt and toppings, to be located at 81 Fort Salonga Road; and an application by Scudder Restaurant Corp. for a restaurant at 155 Main Street in the space most recently occupied bywhich closed last month.

A residential application filed by William O'Shea is requesting a variance to build a garage on his property at 167 Bayview Avenue.
