Asharoken Swears in New Trustees

Joe Catanzano and Pam Pierce ran unopposed.

The held its traditional swearing-in ceremony on July 1 for its two new trustees.

Mary (Pam) Pierce and Joseph Catanzano ran unopposed for two vacant positions on the Board of Trustees. 

Village Justice Charles Brown administered the oath of office to the new trustees.

They replace retiring trustee and Deputy Mayor Pete Masterson and Trustee John Elefante. Masterson said he called it quits in order to spend more time with his three sons, all of whom live in California.

Trustee Elefante said he is looking forward to the true retirement he planned when he left an IT position with Citigroup, shortly before joining the Asharoken Village Board.

Joe Catanzano brings to the Asharoken Board a wealth of financial experience after 28 years on Wall Street. Pam Pierce brings a lifetime of business experience as a retired CEO of a large home decor and accessory company.

Their terms are for two years through July, 2013.
