Suffolk Police: Strangers Ringing Doorbells, Cemetery Mischief, Missing Beer, and More

The following arrests were made and incidents reported by Suffolk County police officers between October 26 through November 2

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. A criminal charge is only an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The following arrests were made between Oct. 27-31:

Arrests:

  • Michael Dirr, of Huntington, was arrested in East Northport on Oct. 31 and charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree. He has a previous DWI conviction.
  • Anthony Uliano, of East Northport, was arrested and charged in East Northport for disorderly conduct on Oct. 29 for approaching an individual and using obscene language and gestures.
  • Stephen Pergolizzi, of East Northport, was arrested on Oct. 27 in East Northport and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree for having Oxycodone, a pain medication,  without a valid prescription.
  • Timothy Kearns, of East Northport, was arrested in Huntington Station on Oct. 30 and charged with possession of a graffiti instrument after he was found on New York Avenue with a can of spray paint, and used it on the wall of J&M Huntington Services.
  • Russell Comittino, of Commack, was arrested in Huntington on Oct. 29 and charged with grand larceny in the third degree for stealing items from Accurate Blacktop of East Northport, including a Bobcat.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between Oct. 26-Nov. 2:

  • A Park Avenue resident in Elwood reported that three Hispanic women with three crying children rang her doorbell on Oct. 27 and asked to use her bathroom. She agreed, and noticed one of the children standing near her bedroom at one point. After they left in a red Toyota, she discovered that her wallet, including cash and credit cards, was missing.
  • A woman reported on Oct 30 that someone stole an iPod Touch from her Chevy Tahoe truck while it was parked in the driveway of her Sunken Meadow Road residence in Fort Salonga.
  • A Robert Lennox Drive resident in Eaton's Neck reported that she found scratch marks on her sliding glass door, along with a screwdriver that didn't belong to her, on Oct. 29.
  • Police responded to a report of criminal mischief at the Northport Rural Cemetery on Sandy Hollow Road in Northport on Oct. 28 after someone damaged line poles on the property.
  • A Williamsburg Drive resident in Fort Salonga reported on Oct. 27 that someone had stolen an iPod and a GPS from her unlocked 2009 Ford while it was parked in her driveway.
  • A Beacon Lane resident in East Northport reported that someone threw a brick through her fence on Oct. 30 which left a hole. The damage was estimated at $200.
  • A Roosevelt Avenue resident in East Northport reported on Oct. 31, and again on Nov. 2, that he had received harassing and threatening phone calls.
  • Police responded to a report that someone had taken beer from the 7-Eleven on Broadway in Elwood on Oct. 30 and then drove away without paying.
  • A Wilson Street resident in East Northport reported damage to one of her windows on Oct. 30.
  • On Oct. 28, a referee for the Town of Huntington's Flag Football League reported that he was verbally threatened by one of the players during a game at Veterans Park on Bellerose Avenue in East Northport.
  • A Broadway resident in Elwood reported that someone stole a 2006 Yamaha ATV from her backyard sometime on Oct 26.
