Suffolk County Police Blotter: Swastika, Auto Damage, Burglary

The following arrests were made and incidents reported by Suffolk County police officers.

Editor's Note: One or more names in this report have been redacted in light of additional documentation provided regarding this case.

The following information is taken from the Suffolk County Police Department's crime blotter. The defendants were arrested for the charges listed below, but have not yet been convicted of a crime. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The following arrests were made between May 15-26:

  • Milton Mendez, 32, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 15 and charged with DWI. First offense.
  • Lawrence Burke, 19, of Huntington Station, was arrested in East Northport on May 15 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • James Manos, 21, of Huntington, was arrested in East Northport on May 16 and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree: auto over $100 and DWI. First offense.
  • Timur Cagarli, 29, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 18 and charged with petit larceny.
  • Two 17-year-old men from East Northport were arrested in East Northport on May 18 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • Orlando Hernandez, 23, of Huntington Station, was arrested in East Northport on May 21 and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree for violating a court order of protection and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree: firearm.

  • Christopher Buono, 21, of Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 26 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • A 17-year-old man from Northport was arrested in Huntington Station on May 25 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
  • A 17-year-old man from East Northport was arrested in East Northport on May 24 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
  • Jose Ponce, 35, of East Northport, was arrested in East Northport on May 26 and charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon.
  • Keith Hanlon, 29, of Kings Park, was arrested in East Northport on May 26 and charged with dis/con: obscene language/gestures.
  • Gianluca Agostino, 30, from North Babylon, was arrested in East Northport on May 24 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

The following incidents were reported to the Suffolk County Police Department between May 15-26:

  • On May 26, a Senne Road resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone entered his home and stole coins and jewelry.
  • On May 17, a Woodycrest Drive resident in Fort Salonga reported that someone broke the driver’s side window of his 2010 Dodge Van while it was parked in his driveway.
  • On May 22, a Brennan Street resident in Elwood reported that someone broke the driver’s side mirror on her 1994 Camry while it was parked in the street.
  • A Crest Drive resident in East Northport reported on May 22 that someone was sending her harassing texts.
  • An employee of in Elwood reported on May 22 that someone was sending her harassing emails.
  • On May 20, a Brittany Court resident in East Northport reported receiving more than 30 phone calls from a person who immediately hung up.
  • On May 19, a male employee at the Dix Hills Ice Rink denied access to someone who then punched him in the face.
  • On May 17, a Hammond Road resident in Elwood reported that someone threw rocks and damaged the door of her 2000 Dodge Durango while it was parked in the street.
  • On May 16, a woman at on Larkfield Road in East Northport reported being harassed.
  • On May 15, a Honey Lane resident in East Northport reported that someone broke the front windshield of his 2003 Nissan Maxima.
  • On May 15, someone drew a small swastika on the trunk lid of a car parked on Pamela Lane in East Northport.
  • On May 25, a student at Western Suffolk BOCES on Laurel Hill Road in East Northport reported that someone stole a Leatherman type Knife from him.
  • On May 23, a Terrace Drive resident in East Northport reported that someone entered through the kitchen window and removed jewelry.
  • On May 23, a man reported that someone stole his wallet from a locker at Retro Fitness on Route 25 in East Northport.
  • On May 23, a Bellerose Avenue resident in East Northport reported that someone broke through a window and removed jewelry.
