Man Dies at LIPA Boat Ramp
The area was blocked off Monday evening for a non-criminal death investigation.
A man died at the Soundview Boat Ramp, also known as the LIPA Boat Ramp, in Northport Monday evening.
Northport Village police confirmed that the man shot himself and died, but did not state further details about the incident.
The area of Eatons neck Road and Ocean Avenue was blocked off at about 5 p.m. as Suffolk County Police Department's Homicide Unit conducted a non-criminal death investigation.
Police did not identify the man.
