Updated: East Northport Teen Held on $50K Bail Following Arrest for Burglaries
A canine officer found him hiding in Village Physical Therapy.
Robert Clifford, spokesperson for the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Tom Spota, said that the 16-year-old arrested Sunday and charged with a string of burglaries in Northport and East Northport was arraigned yesterday.
Jose Nunez-Garcia, of Dickinson Avenue, East Northport, was held on $50,000 cash bail or $125,000 bond. A Legal Aid attorney was assigned as his defense counsel.
He is due back in court Wednesday.

Original Story: Suffolk and Northport police arrested an East Northport teenager today for multiple commercial burglaries that occurred during the past two months.
Northport Village Police Sergeant Michael Cook discovered evidence of a burglary at , located at 433 Fort Salonga Road in Northport, at approximately 2 a.m. March 20.
Cook requested the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Canine Section. Canine Officer Charles Tramontana and his dog, Ozzy, responded and located Jose Nunez-Garcia, 16, hiding in the building.

After further investigation by Second Squad Detective Nicholas Favata, Nunez-Garcia was charged with four additional burglaries that occurred at businesses in Northport and East Northport. One of the burglaries occurred at a branch located on Larkfield Road in East Northport on March 16.
Nunez-Garcia, of Dickinson Avenue in East Northport, is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.
The investigation is continuing.
An arrest is not a conviction. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
