Cops: Man Arrested in Hit-And-Run Death of Melville Pedestrian

Police arrested a Floral Park man late Tuesday.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Floral Park man Tuesday night for the hit-and-run crash that killed an 85-year-old pedestrian, Robert Hosking, in Melville on Friday, June 20.

An investigation led Vehicular Crime Unit detectives to Harvinder Hothi, who was charged with leaving the scene of an incident without reporting involving a fatality.

Hosking was struck by the vehicle that was traveling south on Route 110. He was transported by Melville Rescue to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, and suffered from internal injuries and multiple fractures, police said. He died the next day, police reported.
