Holiday Celebrations Continue Monday in Northport

Christmas and Hanukkah celebrations will continue Monday in Northport with a tree and menorah lighting.

On Dec. 2 at 6 p.m., the East Northport Chamber of Commerce will hold a Christmas tree lighting at the East Northport Long Island Rail Road train station. The annual tradition includes caroling, holiday treats and a visit from Santa aboard an East Northport Fire Department truck. Music will be provided by the Pulaski Road School fifth grade Chorus and the East Northport Middle School Brass Ensemble.

Shortly after, at 6:45 p.m., the East Northport Jewish Center will hold a group menorah lighting, with children and clergy of the East Northport Jewish Center. The temple's rabbi and cantor will provide blessings and songs to celebrate the Festival of Lights. Chocolate gelt will be handed out to attendees. It will be the sixth night of Hanukkah.
