Hello and welcome to the Monday edition of "The Daily Five," a rundown of things to know or do in the community.

2. Taproot Writers Group: It is never too late to begin to tell your life's stories! The Taproot Writing Group welcomes new and returning members for the Fall 2012 season. Mark your calendars-the first meeting is Monday, September 24. The cost for the ten-session series is $70. East Northport Library at 1 p.m.

3. Sing and Play: Sing songs and rhymes while using scarves, bells, balls, and hoops that engage children in musical and physical activity to reinforce early literacy skills and foster a love of language. (30 min.) East Northport Library at 10 a.m.
