Tell Us: Does Northport Need Another Gas Station?

If so, where would you put it?

There are four gas stations in Northport with as many lying shuttered and abandoned.

An applicant has submitted a plan to put a convenience store and gas station in place of the old Delta Station on Woodbine and 25A, but it still has to pass approval by the village.

Do you think Northport needs another gas station? Where would you put one? What should be done with the abandoned gas stations?

Tell us in the comment station below.

We need more "Nails salons." We have to keep all those asian girls they truck in from Queens employed.

I favor replacing the Delta station. The cleanup has been completed and it is ready to go. Since it is in the Village, I would favor making it more attractive than the usual convenience store/gas station. We have an opportunity to make the Woodbine entrance to our beautiful village look more like Main St. We lost the opportunity with the TD Bank at 25A and Main St. Let's not do that again.

Put another 7 eleven there, they'll be like the village bookends...

Don't forget the reason it was closed in the first place as there was a reported plume that was approaching the water. Care must be taken with any gas station that close to the harbor. Why Metro? They are one of those cash only stations where Hess is the same price with no difference with respect to cash or credit cards. Additional cost for the use of a credit card is not warranted.

Only one out of the four "remaining" Northport stations was pumping gas during SANDY. We need more "modern" stations with safer underground storage tanks and emergency back-up generators.
