Fresh Organic or Frozen Conventional Turkey?

On the eve of Thanksgiving, we're talking turkey. How do you prefer yours?

The line for freshly-killed organic turkeys extended into the parking lot at Makinajian Poultry Farm in Huntington today. Employees directed traffic and helped squeeze cars into the dirt lot as people clamored to nab a bird at the last minute or pick up dialed-in orders.

The Makinajian family has been operating the farm since 1948, selling thousands of turkeys each Thanksgiving. Their customers are willing to spend the extra money for taste and peace of mind, but many enjoy the convenience and lower price tag of a conventional frozen grocery store turkey.
