Young woman featured as face of university advertising campaign.

A hometown girl will soon be a familiar face to millions of New Yorkers.

Northport resident Katie Shepardson was chosen as the face of a new ad campaign for Long Island University CW Post set to debut on Feb. 25 in Penn Station.

Her image will be seen on a large display board on the Long Island Rail Road platform at tracks 18 and 19, opposite the waiting room and contains a quote describing her education.

“I come from four generations of attorneys-and plan on making it five," the ad reads. "LIU Post gave me the chance to meet the lawyer who pioneered the use of DNA testing to overturn wrongful convictions. Now, I am truly inspired to challenge inequality in the justice system.”

Shepardson is pursuing a B.A. degree from LIU Post’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The ads, which will be on display in Penn Station through March 24, were developed as part of the university’s rebranding campaign, “Find Out How Good You Really Are.”

Penn Station, the largest transportation hub in the world, transports over four million commuters each month.
