East Northport Festival Set for September

Rides, games, live music, and at John Walsh Park.

The annual , sponsored by the East Northport Chamber of Commerce, will return to from Sept. 7-9 with rides by , games, vendors, live performances and more.

The fun starts on Friday, Sept. 7, with "Killer Joe and the Lido Soul," a high energy group specializing in soul rockin’ blues. Sit back, or stand up and dance while you hear the sounds of Gary US Bonds and the early Beatles all revved up.

On Saturday, rides, games, food court and vendors will kick off at 11 a.m. with a variety of entertainment going on all weekend. will
be on hand throughout the weekend demonstrating yoga techniques and belly dancing.

While visiting the street vendors, listen to rockin’ sounds on the stage at the Lark with the students of The Rock Underground, Chris Fury and many others throughout the weekend.

Later in the day, students from and the will demonstrate their skills. Jungle Bob and The Magic of Mark and Kym will be performing inside the kiddie park.

Northport's own ska and reggae band Shades of Fred will perform from 3-5 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., by the entrance of the park, will perform. From 5-7:30 grab some dinner from the food court and enjoy the sounds of popular song covers from Majic Music, featuring vocalist Felicia Crandall who performs in several bands including the Distant Twins. Back by popular demand on Saturday night, 7:30 till closing, is Brother Peach performing Allman Brothers Band covers.

On Sunday at 2 pm (and again at 4:00 pm), the East Northport Chamber is proud to bring back Free Cycle Action Sports for daredevil stunts.

At 12 p.m., East Northport will try to get their place on the record-breaking map with the largest crowd dancing to the Hokey Pokey in front of the park stage. Please bring a non-perishable or canned food item to help support the local food pantry.

Between 1 and 3 p.m., contestants can compete for the 2nd annual "East Northport Idol." Contestants will get to sing one popular song backed up by the party band Hi Def for a chance to win tickets to shows and other great prizes. 

At 3 p.m. the Campfire All Stars will play on the park stage. They are a Northport based, acoustic-electric cover band that plays music from the

The hours of the fair are Friday Night, Sept. 7, from 6 to 11 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 9: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
