Crimes Nearby: Armed Home Invasion, Endangering Incompetent Person

Endangering an incompetent person in Huntington, armed home invasion in Dix Hills, Syosset Doctor implicated in LIRR disability scam, and more crimes nearby.

Huntington

Jeffrey Hellman from Huntington was arrested in Huntington on charges of endangering incompetent person.

Dix Hills

Police are searching for four armed robbers who entered a Dix Hills home last week and stole cash, jewelry, a safe and a car.

A  911 caller told police that four men with guns entered the home and took cash and belongings, as well as a 2002 white Kia Sedona. Police said the robbers' faces were covered.

No one was injured in the robbery. No arrests have been made.

Commack

A 43-year-old man was arrested Oct. 16 in Commack and charged with trademark counterfeiting. Cao was observed attempting to sell counterfeit DVDs outside Costco.

Syosset

A Syosset doctor was one of several people arrested last week and accused of participating in phony disability claims against the Long Island Rail Road. Dr. Peter Ajemian, 62,  was accused of running a  “disability mill” that approved phony medical claims to enhance pensions of retiring LIRR workers.
