With tighter economic conditions, not all families are able to go away this week. That leaves some moms — and dads — in their own hometown with kids to keep occupied.

The beach is one place where my whole family can be happy, but that's only good fr short visits right now except for masochists. The library is a good spot for all ages, as well, all year round with books, games, Internet access and a snack bar. But even that can get old.
