The “Living, Out Loud” tour – a group of established essayists – are returning to the mic, this time at Northport Library on Wednesday, March 19, from 7-9 p.m.

This diverse group of writers shares their passion for the personal essay format with literary audiences throughout the region, whether locally on Long Island, and even Brooklyn and Manhattan. In fact, their January gig at New York’s City Winery was sold out.

The group includes Northport’s own Claudia Gryvatz Copquin, whose award-winning humor and lifestyle essays have been published in The New York Times, Newsday, The LA Times, and The Huffington Post. She is a long-standing contributor to Newsday’s Sunday and editorial pages.

Robin Eileen Bernstein, a Melville resident, is an award-winning writer whose work has been published in CBS HealthWatch, Salute Magazine, Rensselaer Magazine, and Long Island Business News.

Iyna Bort Caruso, of Rockville Centre, is a New York Emmy Award-winning writer whose essays have appeared in The New York Times, Newsday, and Christian Science Monitor.

Essayist Paula Ganzi Licata, of Bellmore, has just completed a memoir, Widow 2.0. She is a frequent contributor to The New York Times and Newsday

What’s next for this group of published writers?

“We have been invited to read at the country's oldest library in Newport, Rhode Island,"  Copquin said. “We are also doing a writers tweet-up at Hotel Viking the night before.

After that, the troupe will book readings at the Long Island vineyards as the warm weather approaches.
