Police: BWI in Northport Harbor Boat Crash
Fort Salonga man arrested after crashing boat into moored vessel early Sunday.
A Fort Salonga man was arrested after ramming his powerboat into a moored vessel in Northport Harbor overnight, Suffolk County Police said.
Police charged William Tabert, 52, with boating while intoxicated after his 21-foot Malibu motorboat struck and damaged a 50-foot sailboat with four people aboard at about 12:05 a.m. Sunday.
While both vessels suffered damaged, no one was injured, police said.
Suffolk County Marine Bureau Police responded to the scene and arrested Tabert, who will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
