Anthony Bellano
I'm Anthony Bellano, your galloway.patch.com editor. I can be reached by e-mail at Anthony.Bellano@patch.com or by phone at (609) 277-1029. I was born on July 3, 1979 in Pittsburgh, and moved to New Jersey.
I have worked in the newspaper business since 2003, first at the Gloucester County Times and then at The News of Cumberland County. I was a sportswriter for six of those seven years. I began covering hard news in April of this year, and was the Millville reporter at the News for four months. How would you describe your political beliefs? Politically,  I am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I don't think President Obama is trying to turn our country into a socialist state, but there are a number of things I disagree with him on, including my belief he needs to make a stronger commitment to Afghanistan. Are you registered with a certain party? I am registered as an independent. How religious would you consider yourself? (casual, observant, devout, non religious) I was raised Catholic, but I wouldn't describe my religious beliefs as very strong. Like most people, I celebrate the major holidays, and I do plan to raise my son as a Catholic, and let him decide for himself when he gets older. What do you think are the most important issues facing the community? Where do you stand on each of these issues? It seems the big issue in Galloway right now is the Parole Office coming into town. The original thinking was that it would be an administrative office, and it now seems there will be parolees on site. The town is unhappy about it, as is the town council, but a judge has already ruled in favor of the state. Hopefully, those bringing the office into town will do the right thing on their own, as it seems the ultimate outcome lies in their hands.
