The church, which celebrated its 225th anniversary in 2010, is home to programs such as Weekday Childcare andMore Nursery Center as well as the Ecumenical Lay Council Food Pantry, a volunteer charity group representing a cross-section of churches and synagogues in the area. It has more than 600 congregants, and is one of two churches, with St. Philip Neri, on the corner of Main and Church streets.</p> <p> </p>

The Refuge, A Christian Fellowship

The Refuge is a full-gospel church, affiliated with the Assemblies of God. It wasMore known originally as E. Northport Gospel Church and came about when founding Reverend James Steffens and his father found a vacant lot in East Northport on Elwood Road. When the doors finally did open, 53 people filled the pews. Growth followed and an educational wing was added in 1963. In addition to services, English as a Second Language classes are held every Tuesday from 7pm - 9pm.</p> <p> </p> <p>Also home to Joseph's Storehouse, a food pantry open on Saturdays from 11am - 1 pm.</p> <p> </p>
