The members of this private association are permitted to use Blanchard Lake, located at the end of Blanchard Lane,More abutting the National Grid Power Plant property and the private beach property located at the end of North Avenue. The private park is in the Crab Meadow neighborhood of the town of Huntington. The association hosts many members-only  events throughout the year, such as an egg hunt, pumpkin picking and an annual summer barbecue.

The beach is directly next to a Village of Northport beach, also located on Asharoken Avenue. It looks out on Northport Bay and also has a view of the houses on the Village of Asharoken's strip.

The building has restrooms, a lifeguard station and an outdoor shower. Trucks selling ice cream and drinks drive in to the parking lot periodically.

The boat ramp is a single-lane, hard-surface ramp for small boats only.

Huntington Town Beaches & Marinas/Sand City a.k.a. Hobart Beach

Hobart Beach, also known as Sand City, is one of three beaches in the Town of Huntington. The others are AsharokenMore and Crab Meadow, where the main beach office is located. The boat ramp is single-lane, hard surface, steep and slippery. Commercial fisherman are permitted to unload here. Hobart Beach has beach access on both the Northport Bay and the Long Island Sound. There are no food concessions at town beaches, but ice cream trucks come by frequently. This beach is also home to the Sarah H. Ruppert Water Bird Park Preserve at the very end of the beach where there is no trespassing. At low tide, a rock jetty appears at the far south end of the beach.

Northport was established in 1656 and incorporated in 1894. Its nickname is Cow Harbor because of the cows that usedMore to graze on the waterfront. The zip code is 11768. It shares that zip code with the Village of Asharoken, Eaton's Neck, Crab Meadow and Fort Salonga.

Northport sits in the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, but has its own Board of Trustees made up of a mayor and four trustees; a police department; municipal court; highway and parks departments; and an administrative staff housed at Village Hall.

The village, with a population of approximately 7,500, sits on New York State Route 25A, also known as Fort Salonga Road in some parts of Northport, on Long Island's picturesque North Shore.
