I've always wanted to get back into fishing and would love to hit Northport harbor the way I did as…Read More a kid. Are they safe to eat? I always remember the water being rather oily...

I wonder how some folks feel about that commute from out east to "live" in this District…Read More just for Girls Lacrosse now. Trying to ride the 2011 wave not working out the way you planned? I wonder what the record for your actual school district is this year? 7-3? I guess it would have been too much trouble to develop homegrown players right here in the taxpaying and town supporting community. Staggered by the idea that this team, these parents and this community is OK with this type of thing. Notice all of the activists on PATCH who scream about IB, or salaries or budgets are conspicuously silent.

Two rankings at work. State and county. It's impressive that two LI teams are No. 1 in the state.…Read More Nothing lame about it. If you follow lacrosse, you know it's a close community.

Jason, Why not simply report on the solid Suffolk ranking of the Northport Boys Lacrosse team in the…Read More NORTHPORT patch without mentioning Chaminade and Garden City? I mean really, "Northport ranked, but Chaminade and Garden City sit atop state boys lacrosse rankings." So lame.

2009, maybe you're right about improving. But why wouldn't you agree that wrong is wrong. I am…Read More perfectly fine with throwing this stone because I am not stealing from my town. Whats the cost of 4 years at NHS? How much scholarship money is taken from our own kids? When colleges look at NHS kids, shouldnt they be from NHS? I am always amazed when ethics (not to mention a willingness to steal) takes a back seat to kids playing a sport. If my kid isn't played or doesn't make the team, it should be because other kids who actually live here are better. This is what happens when lines are blurred between a public school team, a business and desperate sports parents. And I'm sure you'll be the first one on line at the Npt board meeting complaining about taxes, but meanwhile there are parents who ship their kids here for a free education, the recognition of playing on a Nationally ranked team and college consideration, scholarships, etc. Then when the weekend comes and/or the school year is over, these interlopers will return to their community out east and will have contributed nothing to our community aside from a girls lacrosse victory. Then you can read in a different patch newspaper about the fake NHS players whose siblings won awards in another town. Some are not even trying to be subtle. Everyone knows that there are more than a few blind eyes from parents to administrators. Good call. Great lesson to teach your child. Win at all costs, take at all costs, give nothing back.

Maybe your child needs to step her play of the game before you go casting stones.

Northport falls to New Rochelle, 60-46. Great run.
