Northport Agenda: Fall Family Fun Day, Apple Festival
Check out what's happening around Northport this weekend, Oct. 18-20.
It should be another great fall weekend weather-wise and there's plenty going on in the area if you want to get out of the house. Here's what's on tap:
NORTHPORT
Fall Family Fun Day
Join the Northport Historical Society on the front lawn of the museum, located at 215 Main Street in Northport, from noon to 2 p.m. for a family-friendly celebration of the season.
There will be a variety of crafts projects, activities, and an opportunity to learn how to play a number of "old-fashioned" games. Seasonal refreshments will be served. Members of the Historical Society pay only $5 per family; all others are $10 per family.
DIX HILLS
Halloween Spooktacular
Park Shore Day Camp, located at 450 Deer Park Road, will host a Halloween Spooktacular from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday.
HUNTINGTON
Apple Festival
Apples are dropping from the trees and the Huntington Historical Society is celebrating. Children can play traditional games, try out old-time crafts and dance to traditional music. At the Dr. Daniel W. Kissam House Museum (434 Park Avenue) property Sunday noon to 4 p.m.Big-8 Road Race
A race on a course shaped like a Figure 8 will be run Saturday through the heart of Huntington Village. Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, the race benefits several good causes, including veterans and the organization's project to eliminate neo-natal tetanus. The race begins at 7:30 a.m.
