Blues Brothers at Paramount; Grateful Dead in the Park

A regional guide to events happening in and around Northport this weekend.

Blues Brothers in Concert

Good Vibes in the Park
Members from Merrick to Manorville join together to perform the music of The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Bob Marley, and Jimmy Buffett (to name a few).  One of the musicians, Lee Dash, is also the Band Leader of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Band (who will perform their concert at 7:30 PM). Saturday, Northport Village Park bandstand. 6 p.m.

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds
An eight-piece powerhouse band that puts a modern spin on classic soul. Led by Arleigh Kincheloe (Sister Sparrow), whose astoundingly powerful voice and sly demeanor make for a spellbinding presence onstage, and backed by the mighty force of The Dirty Birds, a flock of seven men who masterfully lay down thundering grooves and soaring melodies, the band’s live show is explosive. Heckscher Park, 8:30 p.m. Friday

Long Island Philharmonic
Long Island Philharmonic, with Music Director David Stewart Wiley, provides for a musical experience that will entertain, excite and inspire. Heckscher Park, 8:30 p.m. Saturday
