Panera Bread Collecting Turkey Donations for Those in Need

Panera Bread, located at the corner of Jericho Turnpike and Larkfield Road, is now holding its annual Turkey and Trimmings Collection Campaign with Island Harvest Food Bank to give families in need a holiday meal this season.

The restaurant is asking its neighbors to donate frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items at before Dec, 24.

Door Decorating Contest
Think your decorating skills can top all the rest? Enter the Northport Chamber of Commerce's holiday door decorating contest by Dec. 1. Entry forms can be found in the windows of participating merchants. Winners will be announced Dec. 6. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded.

"Good Foods" Thanksgiving Drive
The need for fresh, healthy food for low-income families is the driving force behind a new kind of food drive in Centerport, called the “The Good Foods Thanksgiving Food Collection,” organized by Peace and Plenty Outreach. Donate root vegetables such as carrots, potatoes (sweet, white, red) onions, squash (butternut, acorn) turnips, cabbage and bags of cranberries, pears and apples from now until Nov. 25. Drop off donations at Congregational Church of Huntington, 30 Washington Drive, Centperport Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. or on Nov. 18 and 25 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
