Boating Safety Class; Proposed Town Budgets Announced

Boating Safety Course
A boating safety course will be held Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at Northport High School. The course will continue each Tuesday for four weeks. To join, contact Ellen DaSilva at 631-754-5607 or ellendasilva@msn.com.

Town to Set Public Budget Hearings
The Huntington Town Board will hold a special meeting today  to consider scheduling public meetings regarding its operating and capital budgets. The meeting is set for 9 a.m. in the Huntington town board meeting room, 100 Main St., Huntington.

Old Glory Flag Collection
The American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 "Old Glory" Flag Collection Box will be in the Elwood Public Library (1929 Jericho Turnpike, Elwood) for the month of October. The Old Glory box collects worn, frayed and soiled flags to be disposed of in a proper ceremony near Flag Day with the cooperation of Boy Scout Troop 32 and the Greenlawn Fire Department.

Northport Village Meeting
A Northport village meeting of the trustees will take place Tuesday at Village Hall at 6 p.m.

Medium at the Book Revue
Theresa Caputo, star of TLC’s Long Island Medium, will read from her book at the Book Revue Wednesday at 7 p.m.
