St. Baldrick's Day Blasts Off Friday; Saturday's Event at Napper's

The first event of the weekend was at Northport Middle School.

's large cafeteria was packed Friday night with the line of St. Baldrick's participants waiting to be shaved snaked out the side door. Almost 300 particpants collected $66,913 in online donations. Volunteers collected donations at the site last night as well.

Today's local St. Baldrick's event is taking place right now at 's on Laurel Avenue in Northport. Three hundred and sixteen 'shavee's have registered online and $125,693 in donations have been collected on line. Volunteers are also on hand to collect donations and sign up particpants for today's event, which began at noon but goes on in to the night.

Sunday's event will take place at on Larkfield Road in East Northport. See
