Highlights:
Our boys played Smithtown under the lights at home Saturday night and the first quarter went scoreless as the two defenses pounded the opposition. The Tigers burst onto the field in the second quarter with a series of first downs. Ben Sandt QB threw the perfect block opening a hole for Justin Gerdvil RB and allowing a first down. Matt Cannon RB followed with a great run for another ten yard gain. Great blocking by linemen Joe Bica LT, Bobby Monaco RT, Aidan Brown LE and Alex Pica RE allowed Northport to control the field and to drive Smithtown back for our first touchdown which was run in by Justin. The extra point put the Tigers up by seven at the end of the first half. The second half saw a 55 yard run by Jake Binomi RB, but Smithtown stopped the Tigers short of a second goal. Tiger's defense continued to shut Smithtown down through the third quarter. Jeremy Gerdvil RLB stripped the ball and Northport's Will Chisholm RDE recovered it.  In the final quarter Smithtown was able to get to the goal and the game ended in Northport's win 7-6.

Northport's defense led by Jake Geres, Bobby Bruno, and Stephen Muzyka played outstanding but was worn down by a powerful West Islip offense. Last Week: Northport 0 - East Islip 0
Highlights
: Northport traveled to East Islip, one of the power houses of the division.  The scouting report said they had a strong defense, just like Northport's.  It was a cold and windy day and the two offenses just could not get it in the end zone. The defenses were just too stout, turnovers, interceptions, and out on downs. Northport's defense deserves all the credit on this one.  The lineman of David Weber, Jordan Gerbino, Sean Martinov, Mike Mihailin, Bobby Labatto and Jack Atkinson kept the pressure on the quarterback all day.  The linebackers JT Starcke, Mike Chapman, and Sean Kenny kept plugging up the wholes and blitzing all day, blowing up everything in sight.  The secondary of Mike Monahan, James Amarante, Liam Parker, Jack Boyle, Jake Cody, and Alec D'Amaro did not let anything get behind them the entire game. The offense, lead by its leader, the quarterback Jack Atkinson had there hands full.  The offensive Line of Mike Monahan, Jordan Gerbino, Mike Chapman, Matt Semeraro, Jack Boyle, James Amarante, Jake Cody, and Liam Parker, did their best protecting and opening holes for the backfield. The backfield of Sean Kenny, Bobby Labatto, JT Starcke, Alec D'Amaro and David Weber showed promise but just could not get things going as hard as necessary. All said and done, to walk away with a tie is a great accomplishment for these boys. A tough, good, smashmouth defensive battle.

Northport scored again when RB Sean Chin dragged tacklers into the End Zone from 4yds out making it 13-0. The 2nd Half was more of the same on Defense, with a Fumble caused by Chin & Engellis, was recovered by Truehart. The Offense kept pounding the ball on the ground.
