Whiz Kids: Claudia Geib Named Merit Scholarship Finalist

She’s a lifeguard and swim instructor, the published author of two books and actively contributes to Habitat for Humanity.  Now, Elwood-John H. Glenn High School senior Claudia Geib can add National Merit Finalist to her list of formidable achievements.

Approximately 8400 scholarships are offered, totaling more than $36 million.

As a finalist, Claudia will now be considered for a Merit Scholarship award.

At the Feb. 17 Board of Ed meeting, Superintendent Peter Scordo presented Geib with a certificate of recognition.

He said, “This is a very special award for a very special woman. Claudia is highly insightful, honest, reliable, trustworthy, and respectful – these are just a few of the words that describe her.”
