Tim Tebow definitely knows where it's at. Northport Patch has confirmed rumors that the Jets quarterback was spotted dining at in Britannia Yachting Center on Tuesday afternoon enjoying tacos with an unnamed companion, though it's unknown why he was in the area.
Whales Tale owner Sosh Andriano denied the rumors, but said he'd received multiple calls about it after word spread like wildfire around Twitter and Facebook. "I wasn't here yesterday. I'm not exactly sure where all this started my phone is ringing off the hook today," he said on Wednesday. "Everybody is calling us all day. I mean I'm not really saying anything and I'm hearing it too, I'm hearing that he moved to town."
But multiple sources around town say Tebow was there.
Another, bigger, rumor which remains unconfirmed is that the evangelist baller with southern roots has taken up residence in Northport for the summer. Twitter is atwitter with declarations such as "11 Pulaski Road" and "downtown."
Twitter user @ffrantastic tweeted on Wednesday, "This just in: Tim Tebow spotted in Northport, NY. #Rumorhasit that he bought a house...." When asked where she heard this, she replied that her father had sat next to Tebow when he was at Whales Tale. #Hometown gossip.
Local real estate agents said they'd heard nothing about Tebow's supposed imminent descent on Northport and Tweets to Tebow's account were unanswered.
The commute from Northport to New Jersey, where the Jets practice and play, would be guelling, making Long Island an unlikely home for any pro football star.
Does Northport have a new celebrity to welcome home? It remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Northport is the place to be.
