The third grade girls continue to love a challenge...after falling behind 4 - 0 to a well coached Harborfields team, the girls battled back. With continued improvement from Heather (1 goal and an assist) and first time goals from Shane and Michaela, the team scraped back to a 7-5 loss. Ella (Stahl) and Olivia (Caulfield) performed admirably in goal with a few key saves each despite the tough shots.

A slow defensive start during the first half was too much to overcome after an aggressive Northport second half. Both offensive and defensive skills were equally matched between the two teams throughout the second half. Goals were scored by Lauren Trebour (2), Kate Boland (2), Emerson Cabrera, Emily McNelis, and Summer Renkewitz.

5/6TH GRADE GIRLS
Head Coach: Nora Nolan
Assistant Coaches: Pat Enright, Angelo Pastore & Mark Nolan
Last Game: Northport 8 – Jericho 5
The 5th/6th grade team came out strong in their away game against Jericho this past Sunday. Goalkeeper Shannon Citrin blocked 12 shots, allowing 5 goals and made many successful clears. Defensive players Colleen McManus, Arielle Pastore, Nina MacAgnone and Gabby Bica protected the fan well, keeping Jericho’s scoring run limited. Samantha Hinke defended well as Defensive Wing, and showed amazing speed as she hustled up the field to score 2 goals.
The offense worked well together with midfield lines consisting of Julia Louis, Olivia Fontana, Madisyn Hausch, Deirdre Enright, Katy Dittrich and Stephanie Tsangaris working seamlessly with their teammates on attack – Mara Nolan, Nicole Orella, Ciara Lavin, Ava Pastore and Grace Contino - to capitalize their efforts on Jericho.
Game balls were awarded to players with exemplary performance in the game. Game Ball #1 went to Stephanie Tsangaris for her constant effort on Midfield – her hard work as a Middie led to many turnovers and transitioned into her getting the ball to her teammates in the critical scoring area. Game Ball #2 went to Mara Nolan – a big contributor to the team’s success, playing aggressive Attack and Defense in this game, and many others. Game Ball #3 went to Ava Pastore for her continued efforts and never-say-die spirit on the field, playing several positions and doing well as a newcomer to the game.

6TH GRADE GIRLS
Head Coach: Mike McGinley

The Tigers fought back, after being down by 4 goals with 10 minutes left, to tie the score. Harborfields scored with 1 second left on the clock. The Coaches and parents of these tenacious girls were very proud.
