Northport Resident Named Rookie Referee of the Year

During Long Island Junior Soccer League games, it’s Northport resident Benjamin Schnell calling the shots.

Schnell, along with Claire Drotman of Commack, was recently named the Emrys Joseph Rookie Referee of the Year.

“Both Claire and Benjamin have done a terrific job! You want them refereeing your games or serving as your assistant referee as well,” Long Island Referee Association Executive Vice President John Sengelaub said in a press release.
