Northport Football Beats Connetquot, 28-12

Tigers improve to 2-2 with road win over 2010 playoff team.

The  football team proved its 2010 playoff victory over Connetquot was no fluke. The Tigers defeated the T-Birds, 28-12, Saturday in a Division I game in Bohemia. The win evened the Tigers' record at 2-2.

Northport capitalized on winning the coin toss, opening the game with a methodical 15-play drive, eating up more than eight minutes of clock, punctuated by co-captain Ryan Kokell's 1-yard fourth-down touchdown plunge.

On the ensuing possession, senior Brian Wallace intercepted a Connetquot pass and galloped 60 yards for the score, registering his fourth touchdown of the season.
