Northport Falls to Commack in Tight Game

The Tigers will continue into the playoffs next week.

Saturday's season finale was one of the closest games this year as Northport fell to undefeated Commack, 23-28.

Commack had a clean sweep going into the game, but it was not an easy win for the Cougars as Northport's offense drove the ball into Commack's territory for much of the game.

Northport led at the start of the first half, but Commack caught up just before halftime. In the second half, Northport kept up with Commack, and it looked as though Northport would take the whole game when Connor Quinn scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter, putting Northport just one touchdown away from taking the lead, but the Tigers ran out of time before they were able to score the needed points.

It's not over for the team yet, though. Northport will enter the playoffs next friday against Sachem North.
