senior Allison McKenna reached a historic milestone last week.
McKenna, a four-year starter for the , scored her 1,000th career point in a 59-27 win over Deer Park on Dec. 29. McKenna finished with 25 points against the defending Long Island Class AA champs.
She becomes the fifth girls basketball player in school history to reach the 1,000-point club. McKenna has 1,003 to be exact, according to longtime Coach Andy Athanas.
The other all-time greats? It’s a familiar list of who’s who, starting with her older sister. Jaclyn McKenna, who graduated in 2009, is the Glenn’s all-time scoring leader with 1,479 points. She’s followed by Harmonie Calinda (2005) with 1,424; Michelle Casey (1998) with 1,106; Caila Desroches (2006) with 1,062.
