Knights claim second straight Suffolk Class A title with win over rival Harborfields.

Back-to-back champs!

That’s what you call the girls basketball team after it held off rival Harborfields, 47-45, to claim the Suffolk Class A title Saturday at in Patchogue.

All-Long Island senior forward led the way with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks while Tanna Mohammed added 12 points to keep top-seeded Glenn (20-0) perfect.

“Allison and Rachel Miller are our only starting seniors,” Glenn Coach Andy Athanas told Patch. “We're all still learning and we're fortunate to have beaten a very tough Harborfields team.”

Lexi O’Connor had 20 points for No. 2 Harborfields (18-2), including a three-pointer with 4.5 seconds left to close the gap to 45-44, Newsday reported.

Emma Klis sank two free throws with 3.6 seconds left to put the Knights ahead, 47-44.

The Knights claimed their second straight Suffolk Class A title with a , a rematch of last year's final. Glenn earned a 45-41 win a year ago.

Glenn will face B champ Southampton for the Suffolk Small Schools championship Wednesday at 5 p.m. at . The Knights already beat Southampton, 57-23, earlier this season.
