Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Game Tonight
The Northport Lady Tigers will play the Whitman Lady Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.
The sixth annual "Score for a Cure" will take place tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Northport High School gymnasium.
The Lady Tigers will face off against the Whitman Lady Wildcats. Residents are encouraged to come out to support the team and raise money for cancer research. Food, raffles and entertainment by the Tigerettes and pep band will in full swing.
Last year, the event raised more than $3,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and coaches across the nation who are mobilizing their teams to play with a purpose and take positive action in the fight against cancer. The purpose of Coaches vs. Cancer is to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living among students, faculty, school staff, fans and the community at large, through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising and advocacy activities.
