Northport School Budget Voting Steady, Despite Rain

Polls open until 9 p.m. in Northport and 10 p.m. in Elwood.

Despite the rainy weather, a steady stream of voters came to the Brosnan building, Dickinson Avenue and Fifth Avenue elementary schools Tuesday to cast balots for or against the

Voters are also being asked to approve a proposition for capital improvements and to choose four out of a field of six candidates for the board of education.

The reasons stated for coming out were varied. Some said simply supporting kids is important. Others said the importance of voting was the draw.
