Northport BOE to Finalize Budget

7 p.m. Monday meeting in William Brosnan Building.

The Northport-East Northport Board of Education will finalize the 2013-2014 proposed budget at its Monday meeting in the William Brosnan building. The public portion of the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

The BOE has proposed a $156,934,893 budget representing a 2.86 percent projected tax levy increase and a 1.94 percent budget to budget increase from last year. The 2.86 percent increase falls under the New York State allowable tax levy increase of 3.43 percent.

The estimated tax rate increase would be 3.07 percent, but cannot be fully determined until the tax rate is set by the Town of Huntington in October.
