Former NFL Player Turned Children's Author Visits Elwood Students

Tim Green, former defensive lineman for the Falcons, visits middle school students.

Tim Green, a former defensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons and a bestselling author, visited students at Elwood Middle School to share his stories of playing pro-ball and turning his love of sports into a love for books.

Upon retiring from the NFL in 1994 and authoring more than a dozen bestselling novels, Green began writing a popular series of children’s books based on his experiences in sports and coaching.

During his visit to Elwood, he emphasized the importance of reading,
hard work and a strong character. “You have to work to build character,” said the former Falcon said in a press release. “Reading helps you build character, because through reading you put yourself in the shoes of different characters.”

The author read from his children’s novel “Unstoppable” and took
time to answer students’ questions. He also signed copies of his books for students.
