Elwood National Jr. Honor Society Goes to Washington

The students were welcomed to the New York State Senate and Assembly.

The 's National Junior Honor Society, along with advisor Diane Locascio and teachers Wendy Braxton, Jim Morris and Brian Bissenger, took a trip up to Albany to visit the New York State Capitol on March 2.

The students took a tour of the capitol building and met with several elected officials include Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, Senator Carl Marcellino, R-Oyster Bay, and A R-Northport. 

The stduents were provided with an opportunity to ask questions regarding important issues such as budget concerns and consolidation. They also attended the senate and assembly sessions where they were recognized by Sen. Marcellino and Assem. Raia.
